Andy Pag

Eco-adventurer & Award-winning Freelance Journalist

Andy Pag is a thoughtful and entertaining speaker, with a passion for sustainability and a love for alternative travel. Spending two years exploring the world powered by used cooking oil in an old school bus that he salvaged from a scrap yard, Andy was able to turn unwanted materials into innovative feats of engineering. As an engineer and an award-winning journalist, Andy's spirit of adventure led to twelve years of heading up vehicle-based expeditions to remote corners of the world, until he was inspired to implement more sustainable habits.

Experimenting with wild and alternative forms of travel- from driving a chocolate-powered lorry to Timbuktu, and organising the 'Grease to Greece' car rally- he was able to get closer to understanding what sustainability really means, and what it takes to achieve it. Andy has won Silver for Best Documentary in the PPI Radio Awards, a Royal Television Society Award for Best Documentary, as well as working on programmes such as BBC's Panorama and Radio 4's PM programme. His adventures have been covered by the global media.

Andy Pag's topics of interest are often sustainable travel alternatives, the realities of sustainability, teamwork and engaging with other cultures, embracing change, travel & transport, and science, tehcnology & engineering.
